Position Summary


JW Industries Group is seeking a Workforce Development Manager to support workforce planning, job description development, recruiting coordination, and HR program support for government contracting clients, Alaska Native entities, regional non-profits, and select private partners. This is a hands‑on role that gathers requirements, builds compliant position documentation, supports candidate qualification, and tracks workforce data across projects in Alaska and multi‑state operations (including Alabama, Florida, and the District of Columbia)


Key Responsibilities


  • Write and revise job descriptions for government, local agency, Alaska Native Corporation, and private client roles.
  • Align postings with contract requirements, labor categories, and agency formatting guidelines.
  • Gather and organize staffing requirements from project leads; translate technical inputs into clear hiring criteria.
  • Coordinate recruiting activities: posting, resume screening, interview scheduling, reference follow-up, and candidate tracking.
  • Maintain applicant and workforce data in HR systems or structured spreadsheets; ensure records are current and audit‑ready.
  • Support onboarding packages: verify work eligibility, collect forms, coordinate with security/IT for access where required.
  • Track compliance items tied to contracts (training, certifications, readiness, background steps, fitness/medical where applicable).
  • Support workforce analytics: pull headcount, turnover, and labor data to inform staffing forecasts and pricing inputs (training provided).
  • Assist in applying state‑specific employment considerations across multi‑state operations (Alaska and Florida primary; Alabama, District of Columbia secondary).
  • Provide responsive HR support to smaller client teams lacking internal HR capacity.
  • Contribute materials for proposals and post‑award transition tasking related to staffing and workforce readiness.
  • Support internal JWIG HR initiatives in recruiting, retention, and workforce development program.


Preferred Qualifications


· 5 years of experience in HR, recruiting, staffing coordination, or related workforce support.


· Experience drafting or editing job postings or job descriptions.


· Familiarity with HRIS or ATS tools (ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar) helpful; spreadsheet comfort required.


· Strong attention to detail, follow‑through, and understanding of documentation standards.


· Ability to work effectively with government and private sector staff.


· Clear, professional written communication; able to format position documents that meet compliance needs.


· Experience working in rural Alaska, government contracting, or multi‑state hiring environments is a plus.


· Associate’s degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.


· Government experience, SHRM involvement, or technical certificates are valued.

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $62,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
