Reports to: Director of Childcare - Omro


Hours: 28 Hours per week (11:30-5:30 M, 12:00-5:30pm T-F) during the school year


40 Hours per week in the summer


Job Summary:


The Winneconne Childcare Coordinator assists the Director of Childcare in day-to-day functions according to the Wisconsin State Childcare Licensing Regulations and Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s standards and policies.


The Winneconne Childcare Coordinator assists in creating, implementing, and supervising after school sites and staff in Omro and Winneconne.


Other responsibilities include:


  • Creating and distributing curriculum
  • Maintaining relationships with parents
  • Collecting program fees
  • Assisting in management of the food program
  • Interviewing and hiring staff.
  • Assisting in creating, implementing, and supervising summer programs and staff


It is the responsibility of every staff member to cultivate and maintain positive donor relationships.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor�s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or equivalent degree and 12 credits in early childhood education, including two years minimum experience in administration of licensed child care programs and documentation of First Aid and CPR/AED certification. Each year after assuming the position, must complete 15 additional hours of training in accordance with DHFS licensing regulations.
  • Preferred work experience in Boys & Girls Clubs or similar organization with planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
  • Supervisory experience with at least three direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with young people, parents and community leaders.
  • Strong management and organizational skills with proven ability to manage many details and hit deadlines.
  • Possess an understanding of children�s growth and development and have the ability to work with school age children.
  • Commitment to role model and promote a lifestyle of health, wellness and fitness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to delegate.
  • Competency in general office equipment usage, including calculator, copier, printers, fax and cash register.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Experience in supervising off-site staff.
  • Experience in creating and managing budgets within approved numbers.
  • Must have a valid driver�s license and good driving history.

  • Partnerships are developed with parents and other youth service professionals to aid in resolving problems.
  • Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Licensing
  • Administration of licensed school age programs in accordance with Wisconsin Health and Family Department of Children & Families, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America�s standards.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by the State of Wisconsin Licensing Rules.
  • Development of new programs for licensed school age children.
  • Ensure that sites are in compliance with all local codes - safety and health and fire.
  • Development and implementation of age appropriate curriculum and activities for all school age programs.
  • Attend training workshops as required by DCF - Department of Children & Families regulations.
  • Administrative functions in a timely and comprehensive manner including, but not limited to:
  • Supplies and equipment needed for programs are available and accessible.
  • Cumulative records on all members are maintained.
  • Staff schedules and time sheets are maintained.
  • An inventory of appropriate supplies is maintained.
  • Create a current, relevant, attractive environment throughout the facilities.
  • Supervision of Staff
  • Manage staff through program implementation and behavior management in the classroom.
  • Hire, orientate, train, supervise, and discipline school age staff. These functions will be handled in coordination with the Human Resource Department.
  • Lead monthly staff meetings and weekly individual school sites meetings.
  • Complete appropriate training for job specific functions.
  • Hire, train and supervise teachers for summer licensed programs.
  • Continued competence and career development for staff including, but not limited to:
  • Staff participate in appropriate training for their level of development.
  • Recruiting of applicants for vacant positions, interviewing and training in coordination with the human resource department.
  • Oversee successful collection of family program fees for all school sites and collection from municipal assistance.
  • Assist in determination of program fees. Oversee collection of program fees and billing to parents of participants.
  • All equipment is in good condition. Safety precautions are conspicuously posted and members instructed in the proper and safe use of equipment.
  • Supplies, equipment and member�s personal belongs are properly and securely stored.
  • Respond appropriately to school alarms, with security system or fire alarms.
  • Mandated child abuse reporter.


Other Responsibilities


  • Work with the Director of Member & Family Engagement to have parents/caregivers participate in classes and family activities.
  • Follow the budget when purchasing supplies
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings


Physical and Mental Requirements:


  • Must be able to think clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to function in a loud environment with high energy interacting with multiple-age members.


Other Requirements:


Ability to travel between sites, in your own vehicle.
