Vice President of Government Affairs & Strategic Partnerships

From $150,000 to $170,000 plus commission (up to 100% of salary) and company stock
ThinkOrbital defends, services and builds in space and terrestrially. Space & Battlespace domain awareness, real satellite servicing, law enforcement, energy infrastructure inspection with the ultimate vision of building huge infrastructure platforms in space, Think Orbital is leading the way--protecting & building the future.
The threats to the space domain are real.  Russia likely hiding nukes inside satellites and suddenly becoming multiple objects are real examples.  The US and its allies are essentially blind and limited to surface level observation. ThinkOrbital’s ThinkX long-range X-ray imaging and material characterization system gives the US the ability to literally look inside satellites from 10+km and determine if materials like uranium are present.
This same lightweight, ruggedized technology is being adapted terrestrially for use on drones and surface vehicles for military battlespace awareness (looking inside vehicles, buildings, camouflage) and commercial applications like energy infrastructure inspection and law enforcement.
Our small but might team is made up of driven, scrappy engineers, scientists, and operators who thrive in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
We’re looking for a Vice President of Government Affairs and Strategic Partnerships to join our team to exceed the expectations of US warfighters, strategic decision makers and commercial & civil customers both in space and terrestrially. They are responsible to the CEO for building the relationships and winning contracts to further those ambitions.  Government entities like the US Space Force, USSPACECOM, The National Reconnaissance Office, Defense Intelligence Agency, Army Devcom, DARPA and several others are in the business of providing these capabilities to the government so the ideal candidate can navigate the government landscape with knowledge of the Pentagon, Capitol Hill, the Agencies while also building close ties to commercial partners in law enforcement, energy &  infrastructure inspection, and a host of others. This is a hands-on role that will involve close collaboration with a cross-disciplinary team.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in a technical engineering field
Minimum of 10 years working with military, civil, intel community, aerospace/defense or technical commercial entities and winning contracts.
Detailed knowledge of the Beltway, budgeting process, relevant federal agencies
