Job Description:


The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for coordinating and executing the daily flow of inbound and outbound materials. This role serves as a key link between warehouse operations and administrative logistics, ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality throughout the shipping and receiving process. The position requires hands-on involvement on the floor as well as administrative oversight, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail, process compliance, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities/Duties:


  • Coordinate and perform daily shipping and receiving tasks, including unloading, inspecting, labeling, and staging materials.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and store goods safely and efficiently.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, damage, and compliance with documentation (packing slips, BOLs, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records in inventory and ERP systems; ensure timely data entry and documentation.
  • Prepare and package outbound shipments according to customer and carrier requirements.
  • Conduct quality checks on incoming materials and outgoing products to ensure compliance with internal standards.
  • Monitor and enforce safety procedures and warehouse cleanliness in accordance with company and OSHA guidelines.
  • Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (purchasing, production, customer service) to coordinate logistics and resolve issues.
  • Provide informal training and guidance to warehouse staff on procedures, safety, and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Associate�s degree in supply chain management or related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, and/or warehouse operations, including forklift operation, required.
  • Certification in logistics and/or safety (i.e., CLT, OSHA 30), preferred.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and maintain organization in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, quality, and safety.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic office software (e.g., Excel, email, data entry platforms).
  • Working knowledge of shipping documentation, freight coordination, and warehouse workflows.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in a physically active environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
