POSITION SUMMARY:


The Program Assistant will support the Professions Advancing and Transforming Health (PATH) Academy at CSUF. The mission of the PATH Academy is to support students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, in their pursuit of careers in the health professions to meet the growing needs of diverse population through academic guidance, experiential learning, and community partnerships. Under the supervision of the PATH Program Manager, the Program Assistant will aid and support the PATH Academy’s events and student programs.

Essential Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Assist with coordination of daily administrative activities of a multi-project student training program, which works in partnership with school districts, professional linkage partners, CSUF representatives, and health graduate representatives.
  • Develop materials and reports to assist with outreach, recruitment, education, program events, and general operations.
  • In collaboration with the PATH Program Manager, assist with coordination of structured and unstructured program activities including campus fairs, panels, field trips, trainings, workshops, and more.
  • Host guest speakers, panelists, and field trips to discuss health needs and professional opportunities within health professions.
  • Assist in overseeing the use of the office space.
  • Update program websites and social media outlets.
  • Create program flyers and presentation slides for program events.
  • Coordinate catering for program events.
  • In collaboration with the PATH Program Manager, monitor program interns, mentors, and tasks.
  • Develop program surveys needed for recruitment, evaluation, event registration, and student feedback.
  • Provide support to student mentors and members.
  • Assist with program evaluation (e.g., coordinate data collection, dissemination) as required.
  • Contribute to research projects related to PATH programming and project outcomes.
  • Perform additional programmatic tasks as needed.
  • Other Duties as assigned.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Must have excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Must have excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to follow through on tasks and assignments efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft platforms (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Proficient in Google Platforms (e.g., Gmail, Google Doc, Google Sheets, Google Forms).
  • Familiarity with Canva, preferred.


EDUCATION:


Minimum 2-years of college-level course work from an accredited university in a health-related major (e.g., social work, public health, human services, communication sciences and disorders/speech communication and rhetoric, kinesiology, psychology, sociology, health and physical education/fitness, child and adolescent development, counseling etc.)


A Bachelor’s degree in a health-related program (e.g., social work, public health, human services etc.) is preferred.
