POSITION DUTIES

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Office of School and Community Nutrition Programs (OSCNP), this position provides broad-based administrative support to all six Sections in the OSCNP to include: event planning, document management, resource management, communications, travel arrangements, inventory control, and other tasks as assigned. The position assures effective, productive, and accurate daily operations in an environment conducive to efficiency.


Position Duties Include:


Office Management Oversight

  • Collaborates with Director, Management Associate and OSCNP staff as directed.
  • Performs administrative work using independent judgment and analysis.
  • Interprets rules and regulations in accordance with MSDE and OSCNP policies.
  • Develops solutions and alternatives to administrative problems and the resolution of administrative issues.
  • Coordinates implementation of events and meetings for the Office of School and Community Nutrition Programs (OSCNP).


Building Internal Capacity

  • Provides and coordinates effective internal communications for efficient business operations in the Office.
  • Provides knowledge transfer by maintaining the Resource Library.
  • Assists Director, Management Associate and other OSCNP staff as needed


Building External Capacity

  • Provides support to customers by responding to incoming telephone calls, and/or emails, referring to appropriate staff when necessary.
  • Communicates to external customers and vendors so that internal staff can carry out CNP objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

--------------------------


Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.


Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.


Notes:


1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.


2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
