The IR Clinical Assistant provides administrative and clinical support to the IR team, including technologists, radiologists, nurses, and physician assistants. Responsibilities include assisting with patient scheduling, managing medical records, preparing patients for procedures, and supporting both front- and back-office workflows.

• Review upcoming patient appointments to ensure all documentation is complete (insurance eligibility, authorizations, lab work, H&P, prior imaging, etc.)
  
• Make confirmation calls and communicate pre-exam instructions
  
• Answer phone calls, schedule IR consultations and follow-up imaging, and verify all relevant prep requirements
  
• Record patient medical history, vitals, and assist with connecting patients to providers for consultations
  
• Assist in patient discharge, including escorting to transportation when needed
  
• Track all clinic visits and imaging appointments; follow up with no-shows or cancellations
  
• Assist technologists or nurses with room turnover, laundry, and other tasks as needed
  

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  
• Minimum 6 months of prior patient care experience
  
• 1 year of experience in a customer service role (preferably in a medical setting)
  
• Strong computer and office equipment skills
  
• Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
  
• Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
  
• Familiarity with HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality
  

• Experience using RIS and PACS systems
  
• Understanding of medical scheduling, insurance processes, and radiology terminology
