A Medical Assistant who excels in this role:

• Assists with performing patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of a provider or nurse.
  
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
  
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
  
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  
• Administers patient injections and takes patient's vitals.
  
• Obtains authorization for consults, referrals and procedures and ABNàƒÂ¢â‚¬â„¢s per policies.
  
• Evaluates chart documentation for coding purposes, applies official guidelines, and determines and applies appropriate codes. Document all charges on fee ticket to ensure 100% capture of all charges.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduation from a certified Medical Assistant program preferred.
  
• License/Certification: American Heart Association BLS certification required within 60-days of hire.
  
• Experience: 1 àƒÂ¢â‚¬ï¿½ 2 years medical office experience preferred. Previous Medical Assistant and front office experience preferred.
  
• Other Requirements: Excellent customer service skills. Typing and grammatical skills. Demonstrates attitude of cooperation and professionalism.
