Salary/Position Classification


  • $4,500 Pay at end of each semester annual, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 16.02 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite.


Purpose of Position


The Teaching & Leadership M.S. degree is designed for those who already have a teaching license and desire to gain advanced skills and certifications in the K-12 field. This learning partnership is sponsored by the Burgum Foundation and is developed exclusively for rural educators, currently those in the Great Northwest Education Cooperative.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • School District Liaison: work collaboratively with UND faculty to align course and program standards with Bismarck school district initiatives.

  • Commitment to working closely, in an ongoing manner, with university faculty and program administration to ensure alignment and coherency
  • Skill in marketing, recruiting, retaining, and developing high-quality educator cohort participants
  • Ability to provide vision, direction, and guidance in alignment with educational goals and standards
  • Understanding of effective teaching methods, curriculum development, and assessment practices to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Skill in leading and guiding scholarly projects aligned to educational needs and priorities
  • Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform decision-making and drive improvement efforts
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment that addresses the needs of all students, regardless of background or ability
  • Ability to navigate conflicts and facilitate resolution while maintaining a positive cohort climate and fostering collaboration
  • Knowledge of education policies, regulations, and governance structures to ensure compliance and effective decision-making
  • Understanding of educational technology tools and strategies to enhance teaching, learning, and administrative processes
  • Ability to advocate for the needs of the university and school district, including securing funding, resources, and support from stakeholders


Minimum Requirements


  • Master's degree in education-related field
  • Three years of school district leadership experience
  • Western Education Regional Cooperative Public Schools employee
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
