Position Summary: Interior Paint & Finish Technician


This role involves preparing, applying, and touching up finishes on aircraft furniture using various techniques and materials. The technician will conduct high-quality repairs to finished surfaces, both in-house and off-site, using spray equipment and manual methods. Attention to detail and compliance with design specifications are crucial, ensuring products meet stringent quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Apply finishes per engineering and customer specifications.
  • Repair and touch up aircraft furniture finishes.
  • Use hand sanding, DA (Dual Action) or Orbital sanding tools.
  • Operate HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) and RP (Reduced Pressure) guns.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align with design requirements.
  • Champion safety protocols and 5S standards.
  • Track materials and maintain shop equipment.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.


Skills and Experience:


  • Familiarity with cabinet finish processes and aerospace standards.
  • Proficiency in mixing and applying paints, stains, and finishes.
  • Skilled in using sanding tools and spray guns.
  • Blueprint and technical documentation interpretation.
  • Basic computer skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift 40 lbs. and work in confined spaces.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma/GED; trade schooling is a plus.
  • Experience in cabinetry/wood finishing, preferably in aerospace.
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma is advantageous.


Shift hours are Mon-Thurs 6:45 am to 3:45 pm and Friday 6:45 am to 12:45pm. The role requires flexibility, including Saturdays when needed, and adherence to drug and background check requirements.


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour


Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
