Job Duties

Responsibility / Duty

Guide and evaluate supervised practice experiences. Teaching workload as much as twice the teaching workload for full-time academic faculty. Appraise students of periodic evaluations. Monitor supervised practice attendance. Report final grades in Banner at the end of each semester. Maintain propriate


student records and files.

Responsibility / Duty

Responsible to Program Coordinator. Plan cooperatively with Program Coordinator for courses and course objectives. Recommend utilization of supervised practice facilities to enhance learning. Assume such related assigned duties as contribute to the integral functioning of the dietetics internship program. Arrange with Program Coordinator, in event of inability to meet assignment, i.e., absence from campus or clinical. Recommend materials and services for budgetary inclusion to Program Coordinator. Actively participate in faculty meetings and committee activities. Assist in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with fellow faculty members and associated service personnel. Provide annually, evidence, unencumbered licensure in State of Louisiana. Provide evidence annually of compliance with health requirements. Adhere to appropriate procedures and policies as outlined in the Department of Allied Sciences Faculty Handbook and the NSU Policy and Procedure Manual. Schedule annual peer and administrative evaluations. Complete at the end of every semester all faculty end of course evaluation forms and submit them to the Program Coordinator

Responsibility / Duty

Assume such related assigned duties as contribute to the functioning of the Department. Participate in activities requiring faculty such as graduation, faculty meetings, Faculty Senate when elected, campus committees, etc. Assume such related assigned duties as contribute to appropriate University functioning, including the maintenance of good public relations. New clinical faculty members are required to attend on-going classes in the area of their responsibility.

Minimum Experience Required

Credentialed professional in dietetics (holds current CDR registration as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) and current license to practice in Louisiana (holds current Louisiana license a a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist).


Minimum of two years of clinical experience.


Maintenance and documentation of current knowledge and skills in areas of responsibility.


Minimum Education Required

Terminal degree in dietetics, nutrition, food systems or related field preferred. Minimum of a Master’s Degree in the discipline (dietetics, nutrition).


Minimum Licenses Required

LBEDN license as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and CDR Registration as a Registered Dietitian


Other Minimum Requirements

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Dietetics


Test(s) Required


Preferred Education

Terminal degree in dietetics, nutrition, food systems or related field preferred. Minimum of a Master’s Degree in the discipline (dietetics, nutrition).


Preferred Experience

Five or more years in clinical dietetics practice. Advanced knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process. Willingness to obtain advanced training in Nutrition Focused Physical Examination.
