The Information Systems Administrator is a key member of the IT team, responsible for the comprehensive management, integrity, and seamless operation of the school district's critical electronic information systems. This role involves providing leadership in data management, offering technical expertise to support staff, and managing technology-related projects to ensure efficient and effective district operations. The Information Systems Administrator will champion data accuracy, system integration, and user support, contributing directly to the educational mission of the district.The work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Technology.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Possess and maintain an in-depth understanding of the school district's Student Information System (SIS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and other associated/synced information systems.
  • Apply technical expertise to connect diverse software systems (e.g., SIS, ERP, educational applications, state reporting systems), manage data exchange, and ensure data integrity using APIs (such as OneRoster, Ed-Fi), standard data formats (CSV, JSON, XML), and relevant integration platforms or middleware.
  • Interpret and correct errors to enable correct transmission of data between district systems (internal) and with external entities (e.g., state databases, third-party educational platforms).
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of data entry and state reporting required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and reporting using advanced Microsoft Excel features (formulas, pivot tables, charting) and experience in using SQL for database creation, querying, and report generation in MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Generate and maintain all user accounts and all SIS/ERP security groups and assign users.
  • Input and maintain faculty information for state reporting and scheduling.
  • Train school staff in proper use of SIS/ERP systems and provide on-going technical support.
  • Develop �How-to†instructions and knowledge base articles and distribute to faculty and staff as needed.
  • Create and oversee district-wide and vendor-specific sync settings for SSO, course rostering, and special programs and create/edit school level courses as requested by school staff.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues with district-wide applications, including student information systems (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), and other educational platforms.
  • Oversee data relating to student scheduling and grade reporting.
  • Input student codes to ensure proper coding for funding purposes.
  • Provide data-mining report training for staff and assist with the creation and distribution of data-mining reports for projects as requested by the office personnel.
  • Maintain knowledge of current upgrades and communicate with impacted staff members including highlights/summaries of monthly webinars.
  • Provide support for testing/accountability programs to ensure integrity of student data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.


Experience:


  • 3+ years of Information Systems Administrator experience preferred. Experience working with SIS/ERP systems preferred. School District experience preferred.

This is an Administrative Support position. The salary range is $71,500-$88,500, depending on expereince. Spring-Ford Area School District offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision and prescription insurance, as well as paid time off and paid holidays and a tuition reimbursement program. This position is part of the Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS).
