We’re currently seeking a highly organized and proactive HR Assistant to join our team in Omaha, NE. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys supporting both people and processes, and is passionate about delivering a warm, high-touch employee experience.


Position Summary


As the HR Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our People & Employment operations run smoothly. You’ll support key functions across the employee lifecycle-from recruitment coordination to virtual onboarding, recordkeeping, and day-to-day HR support. This is a highly collaborative and detail-oriented role that contributes to building a positive, compliant, and engaging work environment for our 150+ (and growing!) team members across multiple states.


What You’ll Be Doing


Recruiting & Onboarding Support


  • Post job openings on job boards, update and maintain postings as needed
  • Schedule candidate interviews, communicate with applicants, and track progress
  • Assist with pre-hire steps including preparing offer letters, background checks, and document collection
  • Facilitate virtual onboarding sessions for new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from day one
  • Coordinate new hire orientation schedules and ensure access to systems, tools, and documentation


HR Operations & Compliance


  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS system
  • Assist with employee changes, offboarding, and exit documentation
  • Support benefits administration including open enrollment and benefits questions
  • Help ensure HR practices remain compliant with federal and multi-state employment laws (CA, CO, AZ, NE, OH, TX, etc.)
  • Track labor law posters, rest/meal periods, final pay compliance, and other regulatory requirements


Employee Support & Administration


  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, job openings, benefits, and more
  • Assist with HR reporting, audit preparation, and process documentation
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, training logistics, and recognition programs


What You Bring to the Table


3+ years of HR, recruiting, or administrative support experience (multi-state or healthcare/dental setting preferred)*
  • Familiarity with employment laws in states such as CA, AZ, CO, NE, and OH is a plus
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with HRIS and ATS systems a plus
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Clear and professional communication style, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Friendly, service-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in helping others
  • A positive attitude, adaptability, and eagerness to learn and grow in the HR field
  • Preferred experience: employment law, onboarding, employee benefit's, compliance driven, assist in crating and updating HR forms, templates, and policies, employee relations, employee documentation, etc.
