Job Summary:

The HR Generalist plays an integral role in supporting a multi-state employee base, with a strong focus on health benefits administration, medical leave coordination, and workers’ compensation management. The ideal candidate demonstrates a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, applied knowledge of HR compliance, and the ability to support the needs of a diverse and fast-paced workforce.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Administer and manage employee health and welfare benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and annual open enrollment
  • Coordinate and manage medical, personal, and FMLA/CFRA leave processes, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations
  • Oversee the administrative management of workplace injuries, including processing claims, coordinating return-to-work programs, and managing workers� compensation benefits in collaboration with insurance carriers and internal stakeholders
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, leave, workers� comp, and HR policies
  • Know how to process employee changes in ADP Workforce Now, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and leaves of absence
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting of all HR-related activities
  • Partner with payroll to ensure coordinated HR operations
  • Support general HR functions such as onboarding, employee relations, and HRIS data integrity


Qualifications
Required:


  • Bachelor�s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 4 years of HR Generalist or related HR experience
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is required
  • Solid understanding of benefits and leave administration, including FMLA, CFRA, and ADA
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism


Preferred:


  • Multi-state HR experience
  • Knowledge of workers� compensation regulations and experience managing claims
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • PHR or SPHR certification

Duties


  • Manage human capital management processes including talent acquisition, employee orientation, and performance management.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with FMLA and workers' compensation regulations.
  • Facilitate change management initiatives and support strategic planning efforts within the organization.
  • Conduct employee evaluations and manage employee relations to promote a positive work environment.
  • Oversee HR sourcing activities using various platforms such as ATS systems (Lever, Workday, iCIMS) to streamline recruitment processes.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data entry and manage workforce management tasks to ensure effective reporting and analytics.
  • Implement training & development programs to enhance employee skills and support succession planning efforts.
  • Collaborate with management on organization design initiatives to align workforce capabilities with business objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to affirmative action planning guidelines and OSHA regulations within the workplace.
  • Utilize project management skills to lead HR-related projects from conception through execution.


Qualifications


  • Proven experience in human resources management with a strong understanding of employment & labor law.
  • Familiarity with various HR software systems such as Paychex, Dayforce, Oracle HCM, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, Salesforce, and Paylocity is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively manage conflict and foster positive employee relations.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience in data collection and administrative tasks related to HR functions.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning principles and organization design methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new employees using social media management tools is a plus.
