The Head Bartender will:


o Manage the Silverback Tasting Room and Bar in East Stroudsburg, PA, on weekends, by leading employees in cocktail making, bottle sales, and customer interactions.


o They will strive to improve brand awareness and create lifelong customers, by discussing the spirits we produce, the techniques we use, and the history of the company, bringing that knowledge to patrons and customers through our tasting room, events, and farmers’ markets.


o Ensure supply and stock of consumable goods, ingredients, glassware, etc.


o Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of our space.


o Work closely with General Manager, Distiller, and other employees to highlight new spirits and cocktails via the Tasting Room Menu, social media, and other avenues.


Duties & Responsibilities


Bar Management


Employees


  • Following SB policies (dress, behavior, attendance, etc.), and ensuring employee compliance
  • Covering shifts, or finding coverage for other bartenders
  • Ensuring employees are sharing Silverback information like tasting notes, history and techniques appropriately and accurately


PLCB and RAMP compliance


  • Understand PLCB and SB policies for the Tasting Room
  • Maintaining RAMP training and compliance with state liquor laws
  • Following guidelines for safe alcohol sales, including carding, tracking consumption, etc.
  • Handling intoxicated customers, getting them home safely, and cutting them off appropriately


Inventory


  • Track weekly consumable inventory for the tasting room
  • Monthly merchandise inventory
  • Order and shop or delegate weekly
  • Unloading deliveries, when needed


Menu/Specials


  • In charge of weekly/monthly specials and seasonal menu changes
  • Work closely with GM, other bar staff, and Virginia staff for ideas and implementation


Spirits & History


  • Understand Silverback�s products and history
  • Be familiar with local competitors and other industry members (e.g. wineries, breweries, restaurants)
  • Be able to compare and contrast SB products to other national, state, and local brands


Cleanliness


  • Ensure a clean workspace for employees and patrons and an enjoyable relaxation space for patrons
  • Maintain opening and closing checklists and report to the GM if standards aren�t being maintained

Customer Communication


  • Email
  • Phone/Answering Machine
  • Informing GM of good and bad reviews, either from in person or online


Shipping


  • Check weekly for new online orders for shipping inside of PA
  • Pack orders and purchase shipping labels, by delegating or with the assistance of the GM
  • Follow all shipping rules from PLCB and shipping company


Vendor/Property Management


  • Tracking necessary repairs
  • Outside cleanup, maintaining our parking and sitting areas
  • Interfacing with outside companies/property manager when necessary
  • Additional duties not listed here may arise


Qualifications


· Experience in bars or tasting rooms, at least 2 years


· Experience in a managerial role


· 21+


· Understanding production, serving, and tasting of spirits, cocktails, wine


· Forklift certification/willing to earn certification
