Our Medical Staff Assistants are Patient Care Coordinators and Educators who Partner with our Doctors.

We are seeking full-time Podiatric Medical Assistants for a surgical group of physicians with offices based out of Livonia, Novi, Southfield/Bingham Farms, & Howell.

We need dependable, hard-working & Long-term Career Assistants to join us!

Compensation is DOE and generally runs between $16-$21 per hour (with the opportunity to potentially earn even more for long-term employees that demonstrate commitment, reliability, hard work, and ability). We also offer many performance and referral bonuses to our staff!!

You must be available to work varied hours Monday - Friday (typically anywhere from 730am to 730pm depending on the day of the week and assigned location) with rotating Saturdays (about once a month), and be

able to travel to any of our offices located in Southfield/Bingham Farms, Livonia, and Novi.

Must be responsible, motivated, and have

reliable transportation to Southfield/Bingham Farms, Novi, Livonia and able to WORK FULL SHIFTS.

Responsibilities and Duties

Clinical duties include but are not limited to:

• Taking medical histories and recording vital signs when necessary
  
• Explaining treatment procedures as needed to patients
  
• Describing medical devices and medical sale items/medications
  
• Preparing patients for examination, assisting the physician during the examination, instructing patients about the use of medication and special diets, and preparing/administering medications as directed by a podiatrist
  
• Making castings of feet, preparing patients, exposing and developing X-rays for podiatrists
  
• Removing sutures and changing dressings
  
• Arranging room instruments and equipment, and maintaining supplies and equipment/inventory control
  
• General cleaning and maintenance of office equipment and areas
  
• Operating a computerized patient management system (EMR)
  
• Scheduling appointments
  
• Managing office emergencies
  
• Learning new procedures & explaining to patients
  
• Molding for custom orthotics
  
• Measuring for diabetic shoes
  
• Handling any other duties as assigned by team leads, doctors or management
  

The candidate will be expected to provide some front desk duties as well:

• Answering phones and making phone calls
  
• Prepping charts
  
• Understanding basic insurance knowledge
  
• Understanding different insurance rules
  
• Verifying insurances
  
• Checking patients in and out
  
• Communicating with management and attending monthly meetings
  
• Knowledge of industry policies and standards (OSHA / HIPAA)
  
• Other assigned duties
  

Qualifications and Skills

2 years experience in the Medical Field PREFERRED (not required)*

Medical terminology (podiatry terminology)*

Knowledge of EMR/EHR*

Must own reliable transportation (schedule may require the candidate to work in Livonia, Novi, Howell, or Southfield on different days of the week).*
