About the Role:


The Facilities Tech (FT) in our Freeport, IL facility - In Grown Farms, will assist as a member of the maintenance team responsible for the overall mechanical operation and maintenance of and within the facility. FT will perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on the production/cultivation facility and machinery. FT will provide observed meaningful feedback to leadership to ensure maintenance is real time, strategic, and executed seamlessly within the operation. FT will interact with vendors and contractors to ensure all jobs are leverage the appropriate level of expertise. The below listed duties and responsibilities are meant to serve as a broad overview of what’s required in this position.


The main responsibilities of the Facilities Technician include all aspects of the facility and the departments within in terms of addressing the respective maintenance and repairs necessary to maximize production and prevent failures while maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation inside the facility and production areas.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


Maintenance


  • Perform minor repairs of all buildings and equipment with minimal supervision.


  • Perform major repairs at the direction and under the supervision of the Facilities Manager (FM). Major repairs may include working alongside and coordinating with external contractors or licensed tradesmen. Repairs can include emergency situations and/or scheduled repairs


  • Responsibly use and/or operate vehicles, tools, materials, parts, maintenance supplies and equipment when necessary and ensure that they are used safely, effectively, and efficiently.


  • Install and maintain new equipment (assembling racks, installing dehumidifiers, etc.) at the direction of the (FM).


  • Follow maintenance and repair schedules set forth by the (FM) and ensure routine maintenance is performed in a timely and efficient manner.


  • Work closely with the operational Directors to manage facilities and equipment safely in accordance with operational needs.


  • Repair equipment, along with repairs including but not limited to grow lights, fans, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.


  • Execute work request system along with a record keeping process.


  • Process and log all maintenance and repair work to include daily report on the status of repairs.


  • Conduct safety inspections to ensure all equipment is operating optimally and create a cadence for ongoing inspections.


  • Aid in receiving and storing of supplies and materials across all departments


  • Assists in verifying manifest, break down pallets and boxes, and stages/stores all supplies to proper destination.


  • Install new equipment as needed.


  • Manages facility repair requests


  • Scheduling when maintenance is outside of realm of expertise, but continuously learning from contractors to eliminate the need for outside services when possible.


  • Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement. (Major repairs may include planning and coordination with external contractors or licensed tradesman.)


  • Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment and systems


  • Helps team complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.


  • Aids in obtaining estimates for supplies, repair parts; and assist with ordering items as needed


  • Responsible for accountability of vehicles, tools, materials, and equipment when necessary and ensures that they are used safely, effectively, and efficiently


  • Ensures that all facility resources are well-maintained, well-organized, and reordered promptly


  • Aids in yearly review of all processes to ensure proper permitting and licensing


  • Assists with the Operations Manual and SOP maintenance relating to Facilities Maintenance


  • Other duties as assigned


  • Scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.


Administrative Duties:


  • Maintains accurate records of repairs, equipment cleaning, maintenance and calibration and any other facility systems related logs assigned by the (FM).


  • Promptly reports any system failure, malfunction, or facility damage to the (FM)


  • Assist the (FM) with the completion of daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment, and maintenance procedures


Skills to be Successful (minimum qualifications):?


Education and Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent experience. An Associate�s Degree beneficial


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair


  • A strong knowledge of trades- plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, tile, miscellaneous repairs and maintenance or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Knowledge of the marijuana industry strongly preferred or other highly regulated industry


  • Work history showing flexibility and willingness to accept additional projects or challenges


  • Must be 21 years of age or older


Computers and Technology


  • Experienced with MS Word, Excel, computerized maintenance management and project management software

Schedule


40 hour work weeks: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM with rotating evening & weekend coverage (subject to change as business needs)

The Security and Transport Technician role requires a work environment with light to moderate lifting of up to 50 pounds, with heavier weights manageable with assistance. Candidates must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive motions, including pushing/pulling totes in/out of delivery vans while effectively operating equipment including delivery van. Adherence to general hygiene requirements and safety protocols is essential, as is the ability to maintain focus on tasks. The position involves regular travel and may require working in various weather conditions, while ensuring accuracy in completing delivery manifests and following all procedures. Daily on-site attendance is required.
