Bene's Career Academy is a career school in the beauty industry that is family owned and operated. We are a private school that was founded in 1976 specializing in vocational training in cosmetogoly and wellness. Our objective is to provide students with diversified, integrated theory and practical courses based on eight sources selected from the common body of knowledge of Cosmetology, Barber Styling, Restricted Barber, Manicuring - Nail Care, Massage therapy, Facial Skin Care, and Instructor Training.
Our Barber program prepares students to confidently work towards a barber license in Florida by learning the ins-and-outs of the trade. Barber students acquire skills in styling and cutting that allow the to seamlessly transition from the classroom to the barbershop.
Bene's is looking for a licensed barber to work as an instructor at our New Port Richey campus in the evening. This shift is Monday through Friday from 5PM-10PM. A Barber Instructor at Bene's is responsible for the following:
- Teaching, mentoring, motivating, and coaching all students on the barber floor
- Evaluating student progress
- Preparing students to pass the State Board exam
- Ensuring compliance with State Board rules
- Participate in required administrative duties (including faculty meetings, trainings, and inventory and maintenance needs)
The requirements for this position are:
- a current FL Barber license
- 1 year shop experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills
- Basic computer skills
- A great attitude and commitment to learn new methods and skills
- Prior teaching experience is preferred
