This position is an integral member of the Medical Group management team. The Director works with various leadership teams to develop and implement processes to meet the needs of customers, employees and providers as well as enhancing the growth and quality of the medical group and System.

Management - Oversees day to day operations of multiple TMG primary and or specialty care clinics. Establishes and maintains core measures for daily activity in the clinic setting. Ensures integrity of all data collected. Analyzes operations reports, departmental audits and other core measures to ensure operational quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness. Develops policies and procedures for TMG clinics. Develops innovative and efficient approaches to clinic process improvement. Participates in quality improvement activities. Pursues professional development and works to correct deficits in knowledge.


Development - Maintains a high degree of knowledge of Tanner Human Resource and Tanner Medical Group policies and procedures. Seeks opportunities to attain continued education for both professional and personal development. Maintains awareness of current events and their effect on the healthcare industry (at the federal, state and local levels).


Customer service - Leads team members in achieving customer service goals for the practice. Participates in customer service initiatives. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Maintains a strong understanding of revenue cycle functions. These functions include strong knowledge of medical practice coding. Utilizes dashboards and denial reporting to monitor performance and identify opportunities. Monitors registration process and the impact to revenue cycle. Works closely with Centralized Business Office to maintain key indicators for revenue cycle.


Maintains strong knowledge of electronic medical record and is able to provide training or troubleshoot issues within the practice. Works closely with trainers to ensure that staff is appropriately trained.


Participates in quality improvement including Lean projects to drive efficiency. Serves as a champion with providers and staff to support quality improvement activities.


Initiatives the evaluation of projects to increase revenue or improve patient experience. Works with Medical Group Administration to evaluate new projects.


May be responsible for handling of medications to include: maintaining proper inventory on hand, ordering from approved distributor, and receiving medication orders from the distributor by timely checking-in of the medications to ensure proper storage and handling for the maintenance of the integrity and security of the medications.


Maintains knowledge and compliance of regulatory needs for a physician practice. Examples: CLIA compliance, OSHA compliance, HIPAA compliance, rural health compliance.


May be responsible for resolving and or reporting medication errors.


May be responsible for the reconciliation of medication charges and credits.


Safety - Checks equipment routinely to ensure it is functioning properly. Maintains working knowledge of equipment and removes faulty equipment from use as necessary. Participates in safety programs


May be responsible for properly documenting the wastage of medications, monitoring and reporting the wastage. This includes the monitoring and proper disposal of expired medications.


Compliance Statement
