Director of Nursing (DON)

Compensation up to $145K with the right depth of experience

Mission Valley Heights Surgery Center, located in San Diego CA, is a freestanding outpatient surgical facility dedicated to a broad range of surgical procedures. Our surgeons specialize in orthopedic, pain, spine and podiatry procedures and services as well as several additional specialties. We believe in compassionate medicine, where patients feel reassured and unrushed. We hold ourselves to the highest of standards, as our center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). We are currently searching for a

Full-Time Director of Nursing (DoN) with ambulatory surgery center experience to work Mondays - Fridays. The DoN is responsible for all aspects of the clinical environment in accordance with policies, objectives, and mission of the center. This position will report directly to the Center Director and Medical Director of the surgery center.

Primary

responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):

• coordination of clinical staffing
  
• ongoing refinement/development of policies and procedures
  
• quality of care
  
• assistance to physicians, materials, and equipment management
  
• education and development of clinical personnel
  
• clinical risk management
  
• facility licensing and accreditation
  
• all clinical administrative duties
  
• coordinate, analyze, and evaluate clinical activities and nursing services to improve quality of care and assist with minimizing operating costs
  
• supervise the Quality Improvement Program
  
• accountable for all aspects of nursing service
  
• when appropriate, delegate duties to relevant personnel and monitors their performance
  
• oversee and manage facility maintenance and repairs
  

Qualifications:

• demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills
  
• strong leadership skills; ability to exercise good judgment and to positively influence and lead others, including handling conflicts with poise and effectiveness
  
• strong organization and interpersonal skills
  
• demonstrated ability for self-direction and initiative
  
• excellent communication skills
  
• experience working with Excel, Word, Outlook
  
• ability to maintain basic cardiac life support certification and ACLS
  
• bilingual a plus
  

Education/Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  
• Registered nurse with California state license
  
• Previous operating room, ambulatory surgical center, and/or hospital supervisory experience
  
• Current ACLS certification
