Clinical Supervisor-SAYFE, this is a full-time (40 hours) exempt, Mon. through Friday, 8AM-5PM, hybrid position located at our Burlingame location. The new hire for this position will receive a $5,000 bonus after a year of service!! This is a pro-rated amount to hours worked.

Position Summary


Working as a member of a multi-disciplinary leadership team, the Clinical Supervisor provides oversight of and ensures compliance for services provided through the SAYFE Program. S/he is responsible for the supervision of staffs; review of clinical documentation; communication with peers, caregivers, teams, and county partners; and meeting program revenue targets. SAYFE is designed to help children and youth achieve independence, stability and wellness within the context of their community and culture. SAYFE seeks to stabilize children and youth through working with the County of San Mateo.

Essential Functions


  • Directly supervises clinicians (clinical staff, per diem clinicians, and clinical trainees) to ensure the proper delivery of clinical services.
  • Provides weekly individual, triadic and/or group clinical supervision to clinicians (clinical staff, per diem clinicians, and clinical trainees) who are collecting hours towards licensure or practicum completion.
  • Provides clinical oversight, ensures the delivery of services to clients and families, oversees the documentation and compliance for the SAYFE Program.
  • Works in partnership with the Director to recruit, train and provide on-going support to program staff.
  • Provides administrative support to the program such as documentation review, data requests, audits, etc.
  • Provides safe, effective, efficient clinical supervision, utilizing reflective supervision practices and ensuring that services are strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically appropriate, and client/family centered and in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
  • Completes all internal Edgewood compliance trainings and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) required to provide clinical supervision and provides documentation to Edgewood Training Department.
  • Scheduled days and times for in-office availability are flexible but must accommodate program needs for example, audits, in-person supervision/training as needed for struggling or new staff, team meetings, trainings. Standard of 2 in-person workdays a month is to be expected.
  • Collaborates with Quality Assurance (QA) Department to ensure compliance with agency, county, state, and accreditation standards are met.
  • Keeps abreast of changes to local, state and federal laws, Board of Behavior Services (BBS), The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards. Communicates and works with Program Leadership and QA Department to implement changes with clinical staff, per diem clinicians, and clinical trainees.
  • Develop and operate a clinical training curriculum in coordination with the SAYFE Director, partnering with HR Talent Acquisition to develop relationships with local colleges and universities, and supervising the clinical trainees to offer an expanded range of clinical service to SAYFE
  • Participates in program-related County meetings with partners.
  • Provides initial and ongoing training of supervisees in order to ensure highest level of care through the use of efficacious interventions and best practices.
  • Ensures services are: Individually tailored to a child/youth's strengths and needs, family centered, defined by specific goals with measurable outcomes, defined by specified transition plan with time frames, flexible and responsive to changing needs and progress, inclusive of goals towards increased safety and community involvement, culturally sensitive and relevant to the child and family's identified culture
  • Promotes effective partnerships, problem-solving, and communication within Edgewood.
  • Participates in the Manager on Call rotation for the crisis line.
  • Serves as a member of the SM Leadership Team: attending required meetings, facilitating trainings, support the development of training curriculum, and participate in workgroups and subcommittees to further agency initiatives, business planning, and program development.
  • Provides case coverage and direct client/family support for the program as needed
  • Performs other duties as needed.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Advanced degree, Master's or Doctorate in clinical psychology, social work or related field required.
  • Current CA Board of Behavioral Science or Board of Psychology license and or registration.
  • California licensed two years and Clinical Supervisor eligible (LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist).
  • Must have completed, or to complete as a condition of employment required Clinical Supervision training CEU's of state licensing boards (BBS).
  • Must have completed BBS Supervisory Training course.
  • Based on funding sources, California Dept. of Mental Health requires all unlicensed psychologists to apply for a professional licensing waiver or show proof of valid waiver prior to hire date.
  • Direct clinical experience working with high-risk children and youth.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with community mental health systems.
  • Clean California DMV record and current CA insurance.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience providing individual, family and group therapy to children and adolescents.
  • Experience working in residential or psychiatric hospital settings and in a variety of settings: homes, schools, neighborhoods, other agencies, etc.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in working with diverse communities.
  • Familiarity with San Francisco and San Mateo County resources.


Salary Information


This position has a salary range of $103,521.00-$123,291.00 depending on years of clinical experience and bilingual language skills. *Please note-the language differential is contingent on passing a language proficiency test.
