The Clinical Director’s functions include the provision of leadership, direction, and oversight of JourneyPure’s clinical offerings and clinicians and includes both clinical and administrative components of the program. The Clinical Director will report to JourneyPure’s Executive Director of the Middle TN Region. It is expected that management decisions will be made in collaboration with other JourneyPure managerial staff, including but not limited to: The River Leadership Team, Revenue Cycle Management, Utilization Management & Clinical Quality, Marketing, Medical, Clinical, and Facilities Management.
The Clinical Director may have direct patient care duties at times, and these fluctuate according to census and staffing needs. This role is to be filled by an individual with strong behavioral health, addiction, and mental health experience, and with a skill set enabling rapid development of impressions regarding operational and clinical decision making. A history of exposure to common medical issues seen in dual diagnosis patients will be beneficial, in addition to utilization review experience and experience working with a large, complex and fluctuating schedule.
The Clinical Director directly partners with a dedicated Business Development Associate to ensure meaningful referral relationships with the professional referent organizations that have long trusted the Center for Professional Excellence as a partner. The Clinical Director serves a vital role in maintaining program standards and helping to support these relationships so these partnerships remain strong.
The Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring the program and various program facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations in all areas of oversight, as well as licensing and certification rules and regulations.  This includes maintaining and updating policy and procedure to reflect the most recent regulations and requirements and informing the Executive Director and Chief of Clinical Operations of all applicable regulation amendments and updating the physical and actual policy and procedure to reflect the most current regulations.
The role requires on-call availability for emergencies on nights and weekends.

Qualifications & Requirements:
1. Education - Master’s degree required in behavioral healthcare or related field
2. Experience - At least seven years of full-time experience in behavioral healthcare, and
five aggregate years of managerial experience
3. Certifications - CPR
4. Licenses - TN License in behavioral healthcare related field

Working Environment: Office space will be provided by the facility with materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to perform assigned tasks.

Occasional physical exertion (lifting 30 or more pounds, walking, standing, etc.) to support client weight in case of emergency or patient disability requiring assistance in walking, standing, etc. Must be able to see, stoop, sit, stand, bend and reach. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, elderly, hostile people as needed. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with the medical, nursing, clinical and other staff. Must be emotionally stable and exhibit ability to display coping skills to deal with multiple duties and priorities. Risk of exposure to infections and contagious/blood borne diseases. Exposure to varying and unpredictable situations (i.e., client behavior). Subject to work schedule and shift change. Scheduled for “on call†duty, as needed
