Overview

The Air Traffic Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft within the airspace and at airports. This position requires a high level of concentration, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with pilots and ground personnel. Air Traffic Controllers are responsible for directing aircraft on the ground and through controlled airspace, providing essential information to maintain safety and efficiency in air travel.


Responsibilities


  • Monitor and direct the movement of aircraft on the ground and in the airspace.
  • Provide clear instructions to pilots regarding takeoff, landing, and in-flight maneuvers.
  • Coordinate with other air traffic control personnel to manage traffic flow and prevent collisions.
  • Utilize radar systems and other technology to track aircraft positions and ensure safe distances between them.
  • Communicate weather conditions, runway availability, and any potential hazards to pilots.
  • Maintain accurate records of flight data and communications for safety audits.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies or unexpected situations involving aircraft.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time


Pay: From $56.89 per hour


Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
