The YWCA NWLA Poverty Reduction Initiative project affects low-income underserved people in Northwest Louisiana, including Caddo and Bossier Parish, Louisiana. The mission of the YWCA is the elimination of racism, the empowerment of women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The YWCA serves women and teen girls who are low-income, victims of crime and elderly through its various programs including free trauma counseling, victim advocacy, teen empowerment program, parent education and support, and racial justice programs. This project focuses on eliminating poverty through building the capacity of the YWCA to raise funds and expand services into the community.
