The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASCBC) Team is seeking a Full-Time certified X-Ray Technologist.


Job Summary:


The Radiological Technician is responsible for intraoperative imaging, equipment maintenance, and compliance with safety standards in an outpatient surgical center. This role supports our surgical cases in orthopedics, spine, podiatry, and pain management.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Prepare imaging equipment and positioning aids for scheduled procedures based on surgeon preference cards.


2. Operate C-arm and other radiology equipment in accordance with physician needs, maintaining sterile and safe practices.


3. Verify proper radiation shielding for all personnel and patients.


4. Comply with aseptic technique standards and infection control protocols at all times.


5. Provide timely intraoperative imaging as requested by the surgeon.


6. Ensure all imaging procedures meet state, federal, and manufacturer safety standards.


7. Perform equipment checks and document calibration or maintenance as needed.


8. Support the surgical team with inventory control and daily restocking of supplies.


9. Accurately document radiation exposure in the patient’s medical record.


10.Assist with room turnover, case preparation, and cleaning in alignment with AORN standards and center protocols.


11.Serve as a resource for staff, patients, and visitors, always maintaining professionalism and excellent communication.


12.Mentor and train new hires or students as appropriate.


13.Participate in the center’s Quality Improvement (QI) activities and initiatives.


14.Attend required staff meetings and continuing education sessions.


15.Maintain up-to-date credentials including BLS certification.


16.Perform duties in emergency situations calmly and effectively.


17.Maintain strict patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards.


Qualifications:


  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Active Pennsylvania Radiologic Technologist Certification required.
  • Fluoroscopy permit or eligibility preferred.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
