Welding Shop Helper - Leander, TX

Location: 9250 FM 2243, Leander, TX 78641

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; Saturdays as needed

Note: This position does not involve pipe welding or pipe fitting. We do not lay, fit, or weld pipe.

Position Overview:

HL Chapman is seeking a dependable and motivated Welding Shop Helper to support operations in our Leander shop. This role involves general shop assistance, material handling, and equipment support. Ideal candidates are hands-on, safety-conscious, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with general shop tasks including grinding, cutting, and housekeeping
  
• Operate bandsaw to cut parts to specification
  
• Support burn table operations: loading, unloading, and cleaning parts
  
• Move materials between shops using a forklift
  
• Unload incoming material trucks and organize inventory on racks
  

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• No formal education required; willingness to learn is highly valued
  
• Ability to read and use a tape measure
  
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  

Licenses & Certifications:

• Valid driver�s license required
  
• Forklift certification preferred (or ability to be certified by our safety department)
  

Skills & Physical Requirements:

• Safe work habits, including climbing on/off equipment
  
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  
• Reliable and able to work well in a team
  
• Stable work history preferred
