As our

Welcome Desk Associate, you’ll do much more than greet people. You’ll help create memorable experiences, keep communication flowing between departments, and support events that enrich lives. As the first person that will interact with members and guests, this position plays a critical role in creating a positive experience for everyone entering the building. Candidates for the position must have strong communications skills, a high level of energy, and an outgoing personality that will put members and guests at ease.

What You’ll Do

• Warmly greet members, guests, and staff creating a welcoming environment.
  
• Share information about current programs, events, and promotions.
  
• Answer questions and direct guests to the appropriate staff when needed.
  
• Maintain knowledge of daily schedules, classes, and building activities.
  
• Enforce building and fitness center policies with professionalism.
  
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and health club towel service.
  
• Register new members, process payments, and update member info.
  
• Act as a liaison between clients and program managers to ensure smooth communication.
  
• Communicate clearly across departments using Teams, Trello, and Outlook

• A people-person with strong communication and organizational skills
  
• Detail-oriented and tech-savvy (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  
• A self-starter who�s comfortable juggling multiple tasks
  
• Familiarity with the East Side Providence community and Jewish culture is a plus

• 18 years or older
  
• Customer service experience preferred but not required
  
• CPR/AED/First Aid certified within 90 days of employment
  
• Must be detail-orientated, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service
  
• Proficient computer skills and ability to multitask
  
• Well-organized and highly efficient when managing your work
  
• Team player and show a willingness to learn new things
  
• Committed to serving the community, the membership of the JCC and each other
  
• Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position (seated or standing) for extended periods of time
  
• Ability to occasionally move about the facility to assist guests, deliver items, or cover other desks
  
• Ability to lift and carry supplies or packages up to 20 lbs
  
• Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment
  
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to member and guest needs promptly and effectively
  
• May occasionally need to assist with light event setup or breakdown (e.g., moving chairs or signage)
