The Victim Assistance Case Manager (VACM) will work within OCH&S's Community Resilience Program, collaborating with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Violent Crime Unit (PBP VCU) to provide direct intervention to community members who are victims of violence or have experienced and/or witnessed a highly traumatic event. This position will work closely with external agencies like Center for Victims, Highmark Caring Place, and other trauma-focused service organizations in the Pittsburgh area. The VACM will facilitate the coordination and connection to both therapeutic and legal services to those referred by PBP VCU, addressing current gaps present within the delivery of trauma support services to victims.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of trauma-informed practices, as well as existing services available for individuals who experience traumatic incidents or events. Experience is preferred in providing trauma-informed interventions to victims of violent crimes or traumatic incidents and events. This position will require flexible working hours to assist in responding to large scale traumatic events or disasters, which may occur with minimal advance notice.

+ Bachelor of Social Work Degree (BSW) and five (
5) years of full-time experience working in specialty areas such as: crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, community-based mental health support, suicide prevention, risk assessment, or coordinating with public health and safety programs.+ Bachelor's degree in counseling psychology and five (
5) years of full-time experience in the subject areas of: crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, community-based mental health services, suicide prevention, risk assessment, or emergency response.+ Bachelor's degree in clinical psychology and five (
5) years of full-time experience in the subject areas of: crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, community-based mental health services, suicide prevention, risk assessment, or emergency response.+ Master of Social Work degree (MSW) and three (
3) years of experience working in specialty areas such as: crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, community-based mental health support, suicide prevention, risk assessment, or coordinating with public health and safety programs.+ Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling Degree (CMHC) and three (
3) years of full-time experience working in specialty areas such as: crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, community-based mental health support, suicide prevention, risk assessment, or coordinating with public health and safety programs.+ Master of Counseling Psychology and three (
3) years of full-time experience working in specialty areas such as: crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, community-based mental health support, suicide prevention, risk assessment, or coordinating with public health and safety programs------------------------------
