Veterinary Technician/Assistant

Big Island Pet Care Center has been part of the Puna community for more than 25 years, with a convenient location based in Hawaiian Paradise Park. The Big Island Pet Care Center team is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team of dedicated animal healthcare professionals. As a Vet Assistant at Big Island Pet Care Center, you will work closely with our veterinarians and technicians to provide exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

• Assist veterinarians with animal exams, surgeries, and other medical procedures
  
• Assist with administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
  
• Assist with diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiography
  
• Educate clients on animal care, nutrition, and disease prevention
  
• Monitor patients during and after medical procedures and report any changes in their condition
  
• Maintain medical records and ensure accuracy and completeness
  
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  
• Consistent medical support team performance and individual job satisfaction.
  
• Follow clinic standards of hygiene & sterilization for all patient areas, tools, & equipment.
  

• 1+ years of Veterinary Technician or Assistant experience.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  
• Strong problem solving skills
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  
• Must be reliable and punctual
  

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
