1. See that school policies and rules/regulations are carried out as outlined by the building principal/activities coordinator and the activities handbook.
2. Develop and maintain communication with other coaches on staff, other head coaches in the building, and the staff as a whole. Develop a positive working relationship with the Booster Club.
3. Conduct oneself and the Sports program in a professional manner.
4. Develop a system to recruit and retain players at all levels of the program including freshman and JV teams as well as varsity. Demonstrate public relations skills, visibility, and a welcoming attitude.
5. Successfully carry out the duties involved in the administration of this program including: Insurance requirements, parent approval cards, roster maintenance, accident reports, equipment accountability, team transportation, and security of athletes' personal property.
6. Emphasize safety procedures and maintain knowledge of best practices in preventing and treating injuries. Current first-aid certification is required.
7. Attend meetings scheduled by the building activities coordinator and the league.
8. Care for and maintain the equipment used in the football program.
9. Organize the off-season conditioning and weight-training program and Sports camp(s).
10. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

1. College degree or college training in coaching preferred.
2. Successful experience as a high school head sports coach preferred.
3. Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students and provide evidence of the ability to motivate them toward developing a successful program.
4. Demonstrate by coursework and successful experience in coaching and the understanding of this activity, safety practices, techniques, progression of skill development, and rules.
5. Demonstrated ability to instruct students in the techniques and requirements of high school sports.
6. The ability to plan practices and games, and to organize all the necessary people and materials needed to carry out plans.
7. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
8. The dedication to working with assistants, other coaches, colleagues, other staff, and parents in a positive, professional, and equitable manner.
9. A commitment to implementing the policies, rules and regulations in the GSL handbook.
