Responsibilities


  • Foremen are responsible for safety and efficiency on telecommunication underground construction projects. This includes daily oversight of the crew members, equipment, vehicles and tools.
  • Foreman report to the Supervisors, assisting the company with meeting projected goals, developing team, improving work methods, building up and maintaining positive morale, upkeep of vehicles and equipment.
  • Manage the State�s 811 System for projects (JULIE, MISS DIG, etc.)
  • Follow up with permitting process when needed
  • Assist with organization of project details, pre, during, and post project
  • Maintain positive morale of crew, excalating relevant matters as needed.
  • Helping with coordination training needs for Safety and Operations
  • Drive truck and trailer (with equipment) to jobsite as needed
  • Participating in preventative maintenance of equipment, including drill rig, truck and trailer. Assist with coordination of fleet as needed
  • Consistent and thorough project detail communication between you and others (verbal & written)
  • Job Estimating data collection
  • Inventory Control tasks


Qualifications


  • Proven record of safely working around utilities
  • Minimum 2 years experience as first line supervisor of people.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in underground utility construction., telecom knowledge a plus
  • Class A CDL with Air Brake preferred, or ability to obtain one in timely manner (with Company assistance), along with DOT Medical Certification.
  • Willingness to jump in and help out where needed
  • Ability to treat others well and help to create positive work environments for all
  • Overnight travel required often, M-F (with per diem and Company truck)
  • Ability to work occasionally on the weekends.
  • Care of Company supplied equipment, laptop, phone, truck, tools, etc.
