Bgesh is looking for eager and qualified

Ultrasound Technician to provideimaging services in the delivery of patient care to the Billings Area Indian Health Service. The Ultrasound Techs shall perform a wide scope of exams (including X-Ray and CT), and Ultrasound exams, in a safe and careful manner. Exams shall be performed within the facilities policy and procedure guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS :


  • Possess and maintain certification through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Possess a current, valid, unrestricted imaging license throughout the term of this contract, in the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass background check.
  • Minimum twelve (12) months of imaging experience, with a minimum of six months (6) current experience, preferred.
  • Possess an AS degree or diploma from a RAD/CT technologist program approved by the legally designated state accrediting agency at the time of the program was completed.
  • Registered Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (RT) that are qualified to perform CT must maintain an active ARRT CT credential, preferred.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS


  • Ability to ensure adherence to Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) IT system security policies and procedures.
  • Ability to immediately report to the Contracting Officer or COR any information or circumstances that may violate any statute, policy, or procedure.
  • Possess basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to use a computer.
  • Ability to ensure that IHS information technology system security policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ability to attend mandatory orientations and training specified by the IHS, the Service Unit and/or the onsite Supervisor.
  • Ability to read, understand, speak, and write English to effectively communicate with patients and other health care workers, and shall be respectful of the local, American Indian, and Alaska Native culture.
  • Ability to maintain an appropriate professional demeanor in the presence of patients and with each other.


DUTIES:


  • Provide for the delivery of patient care through performance of provider duties and management of patient�s needs as identified.
  • Provide Medical RAD/CT/US technologist services in direct patient care.
  • Ensure 100% percent of all documentation meets established IHS Medical Facility, Joint Commission, and CMS standards to include, but are not limited to, timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, date, time, signature and designated profession.
  • Provide full range of imaging care to patients of all age ranges.
  • Exercise knowledge of the imaging procedures and its application to clinical practices in order to provide individualized, goal-oriented imaging care to the pediatric and adult patient.
  • Exercise knowledge of scientific and psychosocial imaging theory, principles, practices, and techniques in order to plan and provide quality imaging care which meets the physical, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the Native American/Alaskan Native patient.
  • Work effectively and harmoniously within the health care teams and with Native American/Alaskan Native patients and their families.
  • Follow facility policies and procedures, JACHO, OSHA, I.H.S. and other federal licensing, accreditations, and regulating body standards.
  • Offer guidance, and support to team members.
  • Perform clinical procedures, general radiology exams, portable x-ray exams, C-Arm exams, general Ct exams and response to emergency codes.
  • Subject to peer review per Joint Commission standards.
  • Meet the Safety management reporting requirements in accordance with the Service Unit Safety Measure Policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand for extended periods of time, as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move upwards of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.


SCHEDULE & PAY:


  • Full Time, Rotating Shifts will vary according to departmental need but may include 8, 10 or 12 hours shifts in any combination needed to provide seamless coverage.
  • Base Pay: $32.09
  • Flat Rate On Call Pay
