Traveling Wind Technician

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Wind Turbine Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbine systems. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, high voltage components, and the ability to work in various outdoor environments, including construction sites. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

• Perform mechanical and electrical disassembly of wind turbine components, including nacelles, blades, towers, and foundations.
  
• Safely operate and assist with cranes, rigging, cutting tools, and other heavy equipment used in decommissioning.
  
• Disconnect and remove electrical components and cabling in accordance with OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards.
  
• Support transportation and logistics of dismantled turbine components for recycling or disposal.
  
• Conduct inspections of equipment and tools before use and report any issues to site supervision.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation of tasks completed, including photos and field reports.
  
• Follow all safety protocols and participate in daily job safety analysis (JSA) and toolbox talks.
  
• Assist in site clean-up and restoration activities to return land to required post-project conditions.
  
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure project timelines and quality expectations are met.
  

• Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar role within the electrical or construction fields.
  
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including NEC standards.
  
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, and welding techniques.
  
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  
• Willingness to continuously learn about new technologies and industry practices related to wind energy.

Pay: $23.58 - $28.40 per hour
