The Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment (CPCM) at the University of South Dakota is seeking a full-time
Trainer to support foster and kinship families across South Dakota. This position may be located in Pierre, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, or surrounding areas.This position will facilitate high-quality pre- and post-licensure training using the National Training and Development Curriculum (NTDC), engage directly with families through virtual and in-person sessions, and track training completion in collaboration with licensing partners. Trainers will also participate in outreach and recruitment events, helping to connect families with the resources and education they need to succeed.
Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in social work, education, psychology, public health, or a related field, along with strong communication and facilitation skills. Experience in child welfare or adult learning is preferred. This is a statewide position with flexible hybrid/remote work options. 40 hours, variable days per week, regular evening work and often Saturdays.
