The Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC) is part of the New York State Office of Mental Health, dedicated to providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation for adults with serious mental illnesses. We also offer specialized outpatient services for children and adolescents, fostering a supportive environment for recovery.
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at the Capital District Psychiatric Center. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic quality of our facilities through expert painting techniques. Your contributions will help create a welcoming environment for our patients and staff.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Repair and restore surfaces as needed to ensure high-quality finishes.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to coordinate painting projects with minimal disruption to operations.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working in various environments.
- Proven experience in construction painting or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools and painting techniques.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic carpentry skills are a plus but not mandatory.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
