What We're Doing

Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.

The Work

• Lead the SE&V team in ensuring that the program meets all technical requirements.
  
• Partners with the Chief Architect to develop the Technical Solution Baseline and the overall system architecture.
  
• Maintain the Technical Solution Baseline and its technical integrity; maintain the overall system architecture.
  
• Understand the technical effects of changes to the baseline throughout the Lifecycle, and communicate the approved changes to the program.
  
• Lead the derivation and decomposition of system requirements and allocate requirements to the Agile Release Trains (ART) / Resource Managed Organizations (RMA)
  
• Serve as the primary interface for requirements that cross organizational boundaries and do reallocation of requirements as necessary.
  
• Manage system requirements compliance throughout lifecycle; maintain requirements integrity
  
• Perform technical integration of ARTs/RMAs by facilitating technical cross communication among ARTs/RMAs and identifying, adjudicating and resolving technical issues across ARTs/RMAs.
  
• Be responsible for technical content, cost and schedule associated with the SE&V activities.
  
• Evaluate alternative solutions and weigh cost, schedule and technical impact thereof.
  
• Leads the team in ensuring development and governance of program technical plans, including, but not limited to Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), the System Integration Plan, Software Development Plan, and Hardware Development Plan.
  
• Manage and report technical metrics
  
• Create, execute, and maintain the SE&V Charter.
  
• Be responsible for Control Accounts owned by the SE&V.
  
• Manage risk and opportunity at the SE&V level.

• This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
  
• The role will involve approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have an Active DoD Final Secret Clearance.
  
• Detailed domain knowledge and experience especially in the area of Command and Control, Battle Management, and/or Missile Defense Systems.
  
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of systems engineering processes, architecture development, product development, and Verification.
  
• Demonstrated ability to provide clear guidance and direction to team and prioritizing competing requirements.
  
• Prior experience with application and implementation of Digital Transformation processes and tools.
  
• Experience and detailed understanding of Earned Value Management
  
• Experience with Agile Development Processes and tools (e.g., Jira, Agility, Confluence).
  

Desired Skills:

• Top Secret clearance is preferred
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  
• Proven ability to communicate well with peers and different levels of management.
  
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally.
  
• Demonstrated experience in motivating, inspiring, and teaching others to accomplish program objectives

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
