Systems Engineering

STS Government Solutions, LLC (SGS) is hiring for a Software Engineer to support our ongoing mission at Hill Air Force Base in Utah.

• Provides technical expertise for the acquisition of computer system and software (CS&S) weapon systems in the airborne domain.
  
• Expertise applies to designing, developing, integrating, and testing CS&S, to ensure adequate performance, safety, integrity, and airworthiness.
  
• Provides technical support and mentoring in the area of: software and computer system architectures; software and systems integration processes; fault tolerance, redundancy management, and high integrity design techniques; computer system hardware and software criticality identification; Safety Critical Function (SCF) thread analysis; verification techniques for software, hardware and system integration, developing/maintaining SIL facilities with high fidelity test capabilities to V&V software and hardware; system integration; OFP build, load, and flight release process; and the functional compatibility of all software and hardware.
  
• Ensures the hardware, software, and system is qualified to meet airworthiness.
  
• Possesses platform specific knowledge to address the highly, functionally integrated computer systems architectures; computer system performance (e.g., timing/sizing/speed) requirements; processor technology; single/multi-core architectures; operating systems; board support packages; partitioning mechanizations; and open-system concepts.
  
• Ability to plan the execution and assessment of enterprise efforts that include block/incremental updates and releases, software reuse, commercial-off-the-shelf and/or new hardware and software and the integration thereof across the air vehicle.
  

• TOP SECRET security clearance.
  
• Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science (from an ABET accredited institution).
  
• Specific Training: Embedded computer system architectures, CS&S safety critical design practices, Principles of systems integration and V&V practices, CS&S development processes, Unique CS&S technologies (e.g., programing languages, operating systems, processing technology, Software Development Environments (SDE) tools).
  
• Years/Type of Experience: 3-5 years in platform/weapon system domain (e.g., fighter, bomber, cargo, tanker, missile, UAS)
