JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, is responsible for the safety, instruction and training of children participating in the Elk Grove Swim Team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct daily practices based on a training regiment as directed by the Head Swim Team Coach.
- Recommend swimmer�s placement in swim meets.
- Assist in preparing meet line-ups.
- Instruction of swimming skills needed for team participation.
- Attend meets at direction of Head Swim Team Coach.
- Swipe in and out daily and provide Head Swim Team Coach with timesheet for meets.
- Attend meets at direction of Head Swim Team Coach.
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
- Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
- Maintain clean areas after daily practices and meets.
- Continue professional development through continuing education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Flexibility, communication skills and patience.
- Ability to work cooperatively in teams and with others.
- Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
- Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Safety Training for Swim Coaches.
- Previous competitive swimming experience.
