Researches and creates, in coordination with field shop Supply Specialists, new inventory item numbers and descriptions in the HMMS systems for all SCDOT maintenance shops. Makes modifications in the HMMS systems.
Supervises and checks the accuracy of labor, materials, and description of work completed on shop service tickets prior to final approval. Makes corrections as needed.
Supervises, directs, and assists with the creation of shopping carts on the SCEIS/SRM system to include parts not stocked by the parts room, and soliciting bids on items when necessary. Processes orders and receipts on the SCEIS/CITRIX system.
Monitors HMMS parts inventories to ensure accurate allocation of stock items, proper conversion to issue quantities, and regulation of inventories to meet shop production demands.
Drives vehicles needing repairs to and from vendors when necessary. Drives vehicles to support headquarters vehicle pool operations when necessary.
Supervises, directs and assists in the receipt and checking of quantities of obsolete parts from 49 SCDOT shops. Enters obsolete parts into the HMMS system and selects inventory parts for redistribution to other shops or auction sale.
Orders new and replacement tools needed by mechanics and maintains inventory of all mechanic tools.
Supervises and monitors credit card reconciliation for accuracy and accountability. Maintains budget spreadsheet of shop expenditures.
Controls all hazardous waste contracts for the shop, annual reports to DHEC, and hazardous waste shipping paperwork.
Supervises and directs the return of used license plates and records to the DMV license sales office.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

A high school diploma and one and one-half (1.5) years of experience directly related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions includes working in an office environment, warehouse environment, and/or outside in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work hours outside the normal scheduled work week; especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental related emergencies.
