Superintendent of Catholic Schools

The Diocese of Dallas is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven, and visionary leader to serve as Superintendent of Catholic Schools. The Superintendent is considered a part of the ministry of the Catholic Church and the Superintendent is required to perform duties in line with the religious tradition of the Catholic Church throughout his or her daily activities. The Superintendent serves as the chief administrative officer for Catholic schools within the Diocese and is responsible for the leadership, support, and advancement of Catholic education in alignment with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the vision of the Bishop.

The Superintendent provides strategic oversight of all elementary and secondary Catholic schools in the Diocese, ensuring academic excellence, faith formation, financial sustainability, and effective governance across the school system. This is a critical leadership role at a pivotal time in the life of Catholic education in the Diocese of Dallas, marked by the newly enacted Education Savings Account (ESA) law, the launch of Mother Teresa Catholic School, and the diocesan-wide capital campaign for Catholic education, each presenting powerful opportunities for growth, renewal, and lasting impact. • Serve as the chief spokesperson and advocate for Catholic education in the Diocese of Dallas.
  
• Advance a unifying vision for Catholic schools rooted in the Church�s mission of evangelization, academic excellence, and service.
  
• Collaborate closely with the Bishop, diocesan leadership, pastors, principals, and the Catholic Schools Advisory Board to guide strategy and policy.
  

• Ensure that all schools reflect authentic Catholic identity in alignment with Church teaching.
  
• Support ongoing faith formation of presidents, principals, faculty, and staff.
  
• Oversee implementation of religious education standards and Catholic formation initiatives.
  

• Promote high academic standards and effective instructional practices across all schools.
  
• Supervise curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and professional development.
  
• Promote innovation, use data to guide decisions, and support excellence in teaching and school leadership.
  

• Supervise the diocesan Office of Catholic Schools and its staff.
  
• Provide leadership guidance and performance evaluation for school principals.
  
• Support effective governance models, including collaboration with pastors and school boards.
  
• Ensure adherence to diocesan, state, and federal regulations and policies.
  
• Collaborate closely with the Human Resource Office of the Diocese of Dallas.
  

• Support enrollment growth strategies, marketing initiatives, and school choice implementation (ESA law).
  
• Collaborate with diocesan development, finance, and communications offices to secure and steward resources.
  
• Assist in fundraising, capital campaign planning, and donor relations. New School Development
  
• Play a key leadership role in the planning and launch of Mother Teresa Catholic School and other future school initiatives.
  
• Ensure strong academic and spiritual foundations are established in new schools from the outset.
  

• Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong understanding of and commitment to Catholic teaching and Catholic education.
  
• Master�s degree or higher in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Catholic School Leadership, or related field.
  
• Minimum of 7-10 years of successful experience in Catholic school leadership (e.g., principal, central office administrator).
  
• Demonstrated capacity to lead in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  
• Strong pastoral sensitivity and the ability to work collaboratively with clergy, lay leaders, and educators.
  

• Experience leading at the diocesan or superintendent level.
  
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus.
  
• Familiarity with Texas state education policy, school choice legislation (ESA), and private school accreditation.
  
• Experience with capital campaigns or donor engagement.
