Qualifications


1. Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline such as psychology, neuroscience, biology, medicine or basic science.


2. Excellent written and oral skills


General Work Description


Complete currently funded research projects


Partner with senior faculty on new grant submissions that may include K01, R21, or other to fund research efforts


Develop collaborative projects with other faculty including participation in new programmatic funding opportunities


Oversee daily research operation and monitor scientific progress


Manage multiple research projects through the development stage, which involves planning, development, implementation, evaluation and reporting.


Work closely with senior PI, other faculty collaborators and research support team (subordinate research laboratory technicians, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows) to facilitate progress of research projects.


Perform quality control monitoring, implementation of study protocols, adherence to state and federal regulations and guidelines


Make knowledge-based decisions related to research projects and provide PI with recommendations that affect the design of the studies and completion of those studies


Required to handle small animals (rodents) and perform surgeries


Set up data science infrastructure to facilitate in lab and remote data analyses.


Assist PI by drafting IRB, FDA, and planned NIH applications, NIH progress reports, library research, word processing, equipment maintenance, and database management


Assist support staff to properly organize data, perform analyses and present data


As requested, present research at relevant seminars, meetings, national conferences and other events
