The Community Law Program (CLP) is a non-profit civil legal aid organization committed to the principle of providing access to justice for all. Our mission is to empower the most vulnerable in our community through the provision of pro bono legal assistance and representation, education about legal rights and responsibilities, and community outreach. We have a small staff, and we serve a high volume of people each year. Additionally, we strive to maintain a collaborative work environment that focuses on doing good for the community while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
We are seeking a self-motivated and highly effective attorney to join our team. The legal assistance that is needed will include a full range of services, from interviewing prospective clients, providing advice and counsel to clients, negotiating settlements before or after litigation, assisting clients with the preparation of responsive pleadings and motions, and providing full representation to clients in court proceedings. The ideal candidate will also have experience in volunteer recruitment, coordination, and/or support and in supervising paralegals and support staff. In addition, the ideal candidate will be expected to organize and participate in outreach and community education activities designed to educate the general public about legal rights and responsibilities, and to spread awareness about the free legal services provided by CLP. This position requires passion for Access to Justice, and a commitment to the provision of high-quality legal services to the most vulnerable members of our community.
