In this key position within our Horticulture Division, Spray Technicians are responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving fertilization and pest issues while conducting preventive maintenance for our properties.

Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshoot and resolve fertilization or pest issues in a timely manner
  
• Accurately report findings
  
• Complete scheduled work
  
• Communicate escalations to your direct report
  
• Perform the chemical and fertilizer applications on assigned high profile properties
  
• Monitor landscape health and care needs by diagnoses of primary turf problems and basic pest identification
  
• Maintain proper documentation as required by The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
  
• Take a proactive approach to safety by attending all required field safety training and utilizing proper safety equipment
  

Requirements include:

• Requires High School Degree or GED.
  
• 2+ years of experience in Fertilization and Chemicals application preferred.
  
• Experience in commercial Lawn and Ornamental.
  
• Experience in identification of pest issues.
  
• Self-starter with ability to operate under strict deadlines
  
• Excellent multi-tasking skills with an ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects switching from one to the other without the need for reorientation
  
• Ability to diagnose insect and disease issues
  
• Knowledge of plant material and an understanding of the seasonality of the landscaping industry
  
• Valid FL driver's license (must have a clean record for the past 5 years to be insurable)
  
• Must obtain the GI-BMP certification within 30 days of employment
  
• Excellent communication skills - must be able to read and write English - Bi-lingual a plus
  
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position including regularly lifting up to 80 pounds, standing, walking, crouching, stoop/kneeling, and reaching with hands and arms
