Sports Performance Coach

Terms of Employment: Regular, full-time 12-month position, with University benefit package. Located in the Alva NWOSU Department of Athletics. Position open until filled.

Duties and Responsibilities: In charge of strength and conditioning activities of all Northwestern Athletics programs by providing expert instruction in the uses of weight machines and conditioning equipment while being able to tailor workouts to the specific needs of each program or individual student-athlete. Responsible for compliance with policies and procedures of Northwestern, the GAC, NCAA and other regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor�s degree required, Master�s or higher preferred in strength training, physical education, kinesiology or related field.
  
• Experience playing or coaching in sports performance at the collegiate level or above.
  
• Knowledge of Russian Conjugate Periodization and Varied Resistance Training.
  
• Professional certification in the field of Strength and Conditioning required (CSCS, USAW, CSCCa).
  
• Thorough understanding of NCAA rules compliance.
  
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
  
• Must be certified in First Aid and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
  
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
  
• Able to operate a wide variety of fitness and strength equipment.
  
• Able to remain calm in situations where emotions are strained.
  
• Experience working with a variety of teams of both genders.
  
• Have a high level of energy in motivating, directing, and counseling student-athletes.
