Independent Trails is a Non-public School serving high school students diagnosed within the autism spectrum. This program is looking for an innovative, energetic teacher who wants to make a difference.Your work environment would be a beautiful 56 acre horse ranch! You have to see it to believe it. Students will assist in running the horse ranch by putting their new skills to work in animal care, gardening, basic construction,maintenance, and business management. No horse care experience required, we have a team of helpers.

Our program has been established to meet the needs of students who require an alternative approach to special education.Though many of our students will come from the local rural community we are located close to Folsom, El Dorado Hills and easy to get to from Elk Grove and Sacramento. The classroom teacher will be provided with a team of paraprofessionals who have completed over 40 hours of training in teaching and behavior management. The classroom is staffed with a lead paraprofessional and one paraprofessional for every 3 students in the classroom. These paraprofessionals work under the direct supervision of the teacher.
