We are seeking a

talented and passionate Sous Chef to support our Executive Chef in creating extraordinary food and guiding a high-performing kitchen team. This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a fine dining concept that blends artistic plating, vibrant flavors, and thoughtful storytelling-all in a setting that’s as charming as it is elevated.


Key Responsibilities


  • Assist in planning, refining, and executing menus that reflect the creativity and seasonality PORCH + VINE is known for.
  • Supervise daily food preparation and cooking to ensure consistency, quality, and timeliness.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and clear guidance to kitchen staff, fostering a culture of pride and professionalism.
  • Maintain inventory, manage ordering, and work with local purveyors to keep ingredients fresh and relevant.
  • Uphold strict food safety and sanitation standards throughout every station.
  • Partner with front-of-house leaders to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
  • Take the lead during catering events and special tasting dinners, ensuring excellent execution and presentation.
  • Oversee shift transitions, staff scheduling, and kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and cleaned to standard.

Qualifications


  • Proven experience in a culinary leadership role, ideally within fine dining, boutique hospitality, or high-end catering.
  • Strong culinary foundation with refined cooking techniques and a flair for plating and presentation.
  • Experience leading and developing a kitchen team with clear, kind communication.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, food costing, and efficient kitchen operations.
  • Knowledge of dietary practices and allergens is a plus.
  • Calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to excellence.
  • Bartending or beverage experience is a bonus but not required.
  • Most importantly: a true passion for food, creativity, and helping lead something special.
