Join the Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Experience Design team (AFT-XD). We are seeking a Senior UX Designer who is passionate about the intersection of physical and virtual worlds, including AI-powered systems and agent-based workflows, reaching beyond what is shown on a screen to include the physical environment, building layout, equipment, work processes - anything and everything that impacts how work inside our fulfillment centers gets done.

The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver, self-learner, and self-starter with 5+ years of UX experience and demonstrated expertise in designing AI interfaces. You should look around corners to identify user problems and needs, proactively initiate the design process, deliver user-centric design, and influence stakeholders to positively impact experiences within Amazon's global fulfillment network. You will create scalable solutions utilizing multiple tools and techniques, including industry-standard design platforms and AI-driven prototyping tools. As a Senior UX Designer, you will work alongside a cross-functional team of designers, product managers, and engineers to invent solutions that improve the safety, productivity, and engagement of ~1M+ Amazon associates who work in Amazon's fulfillment network worldwide. You will own and drive the user experience from a global perspective, participate in research studies, and deliver simple, elegant, and highly functional designs incorporating emerging technologies. You will help build relationships across teams and countries, promote collaboration and efficiency, and raise the user experience bar to improve the lives of our fulfillment center team members and ultimately deliver smiles to Amazon customers.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead planning of innovative features and products, analyzing user behaviors and AI interaction patterns to identify opportunities in agent-based workflows
  
• Create high-quality design solutions for user interfaces, including LLM interaction flows and conversational UIs
  
• Execute user research focused on interaction patterns to inform and validate designs
  
• Present implementation strategies to stakeholders across product, engineering, and executive teams
  
• Champion design thinking and human-centered AI development across the organization
  
• Mentor peers on emerging AI technologies and best practices
  
• Define best practices for cross-tool implementations, including agent handoff protocols, multi-modal interaction patterns and cross-system contextual awareness.
  
• Create documentation and governance frameworks for consistent AI behavior
  
• Incorporate user feedback and interaction metrics into design iterations
  
• Be resourceful and creative in overcoming obstacles and turning challenges into opportunities.
  
• Ensure voice of the customer is present by incorporating customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into design, and performing metrics analysis post-launch to inform ongoing product improvements and optimization efforts.

AFT’s Experience Design team shapes and simplifies the fulfillment center experience by delivering inclusive solutions that work for everyone, from the screen interface to the larger ecosystem in which our products are used.

• 6+ years of design experience
  
• Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
  
• Experience with hands-on visual design
  
• Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature
  
• Have an online portfolio demonstrating experience with complex AI interfaces and agent-based systems. This includes experience designing LLM-powered interfaces and prompt engineering

• Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
  
• Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
  
• Experience designing in an agile development environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
