My client is a dynamic and growing covered savings association regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, with four branch offices in Illinois, Loan and Deposit Production Offices in New York City and Palm Beach, FL and a National Mortgage Business; and seeks a highly skilled Senior Accountant / Deputy Controller to join the finance team at their Bridgeview, IL headquarters. The bank was recently purchased by forward-looking entrepreneurs who expect to grow this institution from a small community bank to a large, NASDAQ traded regional bank within 10 years. This growth-oriented role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the CFO and other executives and contribute to the bank’s financial strategy and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation.
Prepare 5-company consolidated financial statements and eliminations for management reporting, CALL reporting, Y-9 reporting and annual financial statement audit.
Liaise with PCAOB auditors for financial statement audit
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and regulatory reports.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, banking regulations, and internal policies.
Support the CFO in strategic financial planning and analysis.
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
Collaborate on audits and implement process improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor�s degree in Accounting.
Bank experienced preferred.
CPA designation preferred.
Knowledge of Fiserv Prologue helpful.
5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on community banking preferred.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
