Overview:
The Security & Training Manager is responsible for the management and performance of the Security team and for developing, delivering, and overseeing comprehensive training programs for all security personnel. This role is critical to the professional development and effective onboarding of new security hires. Additionally, this position will be responsible for educating non-security employees on crucial security matters. The Security & Training Manager will also perform the essential duties of a Security Officer, including filling shifts as needed, to maintain a safe and secure environment for a 20,000-seat event center and a large convention center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical security in a high-volume environment, a commitment to best practices, and the flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate operational and training needs.
This role pays an annual salary of $60,000 - $68,000

Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business or related field preferred but not required.
+ Minimum of three years of responsible management experience in security or law enforcement, with demonstrated responsibility for security, safety, investigations and asset and infrastructure protection.
+ 5+ years of experience in physical security operations, with significant experience in a high-volume, dynamic public-facing environment, such as entertainment complexes, resort properties, or large-scale integrated facilities.
+ Demonstrated experience in training and adult education, including developing and delivering curricula.
+ Police and/or law enforcement background preferred.
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ CPR certification and other emergency/life-saving techniques.
+ Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
+ CLEET Certification preferred but not required.
+ NIMS (National Incident Management System) training certification required within 60 days of start date.
+ Active Shooter training certification preferred.
+ Ability to be certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED within 60 days of hire (Prior certification as an instructor is highly desirable).
+ Strong knowledge of the problems, issues, philosophies, principles, tactics, and procedures related to the management of security and safety services.
+ Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations, court decisions and ordinances that affect security operations.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as skills in labor and interpersonal relations.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of principles and techniques of planning, implementing and supervising a facility security force.
+ Ability to handle conflicts, make common sense decisions and exercise proper action during high tension and stressful situations.
+ Ability to operate equipment such as light trucks, Gator, pallet jacks, forklifts, fire extinguishers or other light power equipment.
+ Ability to operate portable radio and standard office equipment including copier and scanning.
+ Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
+ Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
+ Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
+ Ability to remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
+ Required to speak and understand basic English well enough to converse with customers, supervisors, and employees.
+ Strong understanding and practical application of de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution in public settings.
+ Proven ability to teach and implement emergency responses, shelter-in-place, evacuation, and crowd management strategies.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in record-keeping and program development.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
+ Must be willing to work overtime and adapt to varying shift schedules to meet training demands.
+ Operate a personal computer using Windows, Office and other standard office programs and equipment.
+ Ability to stand or sit for long hours during events; talk and hear.
+ This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed for events.
+ Meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility), lifting, carrying, moving, climbing and moderate to loud noises.
+ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
+ This position requires minimal stooping and lifting, but substantial walking.
+ Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
+ Ability to perform physical demonstrations related to security procedures and emergency responses.
