Position Summary:


Guerdon is seeking a talented Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager is solely responsible for the design, prepare, enforce and maintain safety policies that coincide with our culture of health and safety. Work with Management and have knowledge base to support multiple programs at various stages of implementation. Evaluate practices, procedures, training, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to local, state, regional, and national compliance. Maintain all safety related documentation.


The incumbent is generally expected to complete work assignments under limited supervision, exercising latitude in determining objectives of assignment; schedules and arranging own activities and others in accomplishing objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Establish and Measure Accident and Near Miss reductions Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly using Industry Leading �Best Practices†including Manufacturing, Office, and Onsite Guerdon Performed Services.
  • Operate a Continuous Improvement Culture while complying with Guerdon Safey Manual, Rules, and Regulations.
  • Identify unsafe working conditions and practices through Daily / Weekly Inspections.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with TEAM members with the intent to educate peers.
  • Enforcement of federal and state OSHA, EPA, DEQ, and DOT (FMSCA).
  • Educate fellow employees in accurate safety practices and policies.
  • Conduct accident and injury investigations.
  • Lead a Proactive Safety Committee
  • Maintain all documentation related to Safety.
  • Conduct company-wide Safety Meetings.
  • Conduct certification training for Fall Protection, Fleet, Heavy Equipment (Forklift), Assembly, Confined Space, GHS, Focus Four, DEQ, E-Mod, and others as needed.
  • Interpret and apply laws, standards, regulations, and policies for construction relating to Occupational Health and Safety, as well as Environmental Protections.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Minimum of five years of Construction and General industry safety and risks experience.
  • A degree in Occupational Safety & Health or closely related field, with a designation of ASP or CSP and along with a designation of Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) is preferred.

Physical Requirements


  • Reach, stoop, and kneel.
